Vaudreuil-Dorion, July 9, 2026 – The Fédération des Chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CCIVS) are reiterating the importance of making the reduction of the regulatory burden on businesses a priority for all political parties in 2026. The new National Policy on Regulatory and Administrative Relief for Businesses, announced today by Minister Bernard Drainville, follows other policies and action plans whose concrete results have yet to materialize, according to the FCCQ and the CCIVS.
“Our businesses are weighed down by years of accumulating fees, taxes, duties, regulations and bureaucratic delays that are hindering our productivity and our ability to invest and innovate. For the new policy announced today to deliver real results, it must lead to swift and more ambitious action by the government that will be in office after the October 5 election. The chamber of commerce network has made reducing the regulatory burden one of its seven election priorities and is therefore calling on all political parties to commit to this objective,” said Véronique Proulx, President and CEO of the FCCQ.
“For businesses in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, this issue is very concrete: every regulation, every delay and every additional administrative step can slow down an investment project, complicate hiring or delay growth. Political parties must listen to the message coming from the field and commit to reducing the regulatory burden on our businesses,” said Frédérick Perrier, Director General of the CCIVS.
The FCCQ and the CCIVS welcome the intention to centralize all administrative procedures for businesses in one place, within the Zone entreprise, as the FCCQ had previously requested.
To truly change the game when it comes to regulatory relief, the FCCQ and the CCIVS are recommending other flagship measures, starting with:
- Integrating the “two-for-one” requirement into the official mandate of all ministries and agencies, as defined in their constituting legislation.
- Establishing a permanent, interdepartmental one-stop shop for a “regulatory sandbox,” based on the France Expérimentation model.
These requests are part of the FCCQ and CCIVS 2026 election priorities, which were made public on June 9.
